I can still remember the very first time I saw a helicopter land at the hotel near our house on the Vaal river the
rotar wash on my 8 year old face and the smell of the burnt fuel filled me with excitement. My brother and I
were very keen line control pilots. He had a p40 warhawk and I had a Hawker Hurricane, their 0.049cc engines screamed for many happy childhood hours. I have been crazy about aricraft all my lifeand seeing an F16 and
Harrier Jump Jet at Biggin Hill in 1998 was a treat not to mention the P51D Mustangs. In 2003 I turned another
hobby of mine photography, into my full time profession, it was a natural progrssion to start photographing
aircraft. I partnered up with Gavin Withers at the Overberg air show last year and at AAD this year as the official
photographers for Thunder City. Gavin's experience and guidance have helped me to acquire the necessary skills for
shooting high speed aircraft. I am at my happiest with the sun on my face at the airfield with the smell of JET-A1 in my nose.
