Introduction

Every article, every photograph, every illustration and every page published by CHECKSIX represents the work of dedicated aviation photographers, writers, editors, designers and contributors from around the world.

Each edition is the result of countless hours of research, planning, travel, photography, editing and collaboration.

We therefore ask that our editorial work and intellectual property be respected in the same professional spirit in which they were created.

This Copyright & Licensing Statement explains how CHECKSIX content may be used and how permission may be requested where appropriate.


1. Ownership of Copyright

Unless expressly stated otherwise, all editorial content published by CHECKSIX is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

Copyright may belong to:

  • CHECKSIX;
  • individual authors;
  • contributing photographers;
  • graphic designers;
  • other recognised rights holders.

The publication of content within CHECKSIX does not transfer ownership of copyright to readers, subscribers or customers.

3. Editorial Photography

Photography has always been one of the defining elements of CHECKSIX.

Many photographs published by CHECKSIX are created under exceptional operational conditions requiring extensive preparation, travel, accreditation and cooperation with military organisations around the world.

These images represent significant creative and professional effort.

Unauthorised reproduction or distribution of editorial photography is therefore strictly prohibited unless permission has been granted in writing.


4. Editorial Content

All editorial reports published by CHECKSIX are independently researched and professionally prepared.

Text, editorial structure, article concepts and accompanying graphics form part of the protected editorial work.

Extracts may only be reproduced where permitted by applicable copyright law or with prior written permission.


5. Permitted Personal Use

Subscribers and purchasers may:

  • read publications;
  • download authorised editions;
  • store publications for personal reference;
  • access publications through their subscriber account.

Personal access does not include permission to redistribute or publicly share editorial content.


6. Uses Requiring Permission

Written permission from CHECKSIX is generally required before:

  • reproducing complete articles;
  • republishing photography;

  • using CHECKSIX content in commercial projects;

Each contributor retains those rights that remain with them under applicable agreements.

CHECKSIX respects the intellectual property of every contributor and expects the same respect from all users of its publications.


9. Licensing Requests

Educational institutions, museums, publishers, aviation organisations, media outlets and other professional organisations wishing to reproduce CHECKSIX material are invited to contact the Editorial Office.

Whenever possible, we seek practical licensing solutions that respect both copyright and the interests of the requesting organisation.

Each request is assessed individually.


10. Copyright Infringement

If you believe that your copyright has been infringed by material published on the CHECKSIX website, please contact us promptly.

Likewise, if CHECKSIX identifies unauthorised use of its own protected material, we reserve the right to pursue appropriate legal remedies where necessary.
