SUBSCRIPTION TERMS
Last updated: 02.07.2026
Introduction
CHECKSIX exists because of its subscribers.
Your subscription enables independent military aviation journalism, supports professional aviation photography and allows us to continue documenting aviation history for an international readership.
These Subscription Terms explain how our subscription services operate and define the rights and responsibilities of both CHECKSIX and its subscribers.
By subscribing to CHECKSIX, you agree to these Subscription Terms in addition to our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. Subscription Services
CHECKSIX offers digital subscription services providing authorised access to selected editorial content and digital publications.
Subscriptions are intended to provide readers with convenient access to the CHECKSIX Journal and associated subscriber benefits.
The exact scope of each subscription is determined by the subscription plan selected at the time of purchase.
2. Eligibility
Subscriptions are available to individuals who are legally capable of entering into binding agreements under applicable law.
By creating a subscription account, you confirm that all information provided is accurate, complete and kept up to date.
3. Subscriber Account
An active subscription requires a personal subscriber account.
Subscribers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for safeguarding access to their account.
Each subscription is personal and may not be shared with third parties.
CHECKSIX reserves the right to suspend access where unauthorised account sharing or misuse is identified.
4. Subscription Plans
CHECKSIX may offer different subscription models from time to time.
These may include, for example:
- annual subscriptions;
- promotional subscriptions;
- introductory offers;
- future subscription models.
The features and duration of each subscription are described at the time of purchase.
5. Subscriber Benefits
Depending on the selected subscription plan, subscribers may receive access to:
- current digital editions;
- previous editions where included;
- subscriber-exclusive content;
- publication notifications;
- future subscriber benefits introduced by CHECKSIX.
CHECKSIX may enhance subscriber benefits over time.
Such improvements do not create a legal entitlement to future features unless expressly included in the subscription purchased.
6. Access to Digital Editions
Subscribers receive access to digital editions through their subscriber account.
Publications may be made available as downloadable PDF editions or through other digital formats introduced in the future.
Subscribers are encouraged to download and securely archive their purchased or accessible editions for personal use.
7. Editorial Publications
Each digital edition published by CHECKSIX represents an independent editorial publication consisting of original articles, professional photography, layout, graphics and editorial design.
A subscription grants authorised access to these publications but does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property rights.
8. Availability of Publications
CHECKSIX aims to publish new editions according to its editorial schedule.
Publication dates are indicative and may occasionally change due to editorial, operational or technical reasons.
Subscribers acknowledge that producing high-quality aviation journalism sometimes requires flexibility in publication schedules to maintain editorial standards.
9. Subscription Period
Each subscription remains valid for the period selected during the subscription process.
The subscription period begins on the date on which the subscription is successfully activated.
Subscriber access remains available throughout the active subscription period.
10. Renewal
Where subscriptions are offered on a recurring basis, renewal conditions will be clearly displayed before the subscription is completed.
Subscribers will always be informed whether their subscription renews automatically or expires at the end of the selected term.
CHECKSIX is committed to transparent subscription management and does not use hidden renewal mechanisms.
11. Cancellation
Subscribers may cancel recurring subscriptions in accordance with the cancellation conditions applicable to their subscription plan.
Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not affect subscriber access already granted for the current subscription period unless otherwise required by law.
Where subscriptions are non-recurring, no cancellation is necessary, as access expires automatically at the end of the subscription term.
12. Changes to Subscription Plans
CHECKSIX continually develops its publishing services.
Subscription models, pricing and included services may therefore evolve over time.
Changes shall apply only to future subscription periods unless otherwise required by law.
Subscribers will be informed of material changes affecting their subscription before such changes take effect.
13. Subscriber Responsibilities
Subscribers agree to:
- maintain accurate account information;
- keep login credentials confidential;
- use subscriber services solely for personal purposes;
- respect applicable copyright and intellectual property rights;
- refrain from sharing subscriber-only content with unauthorised third parties.
Subscribers are encouraged to contact CHECKSIX whenever technical difficulties arise rather than attempting to circumvent access controls.
14. Account Security
Subscribers are responsible for protecting access to their account.
If unauthorised use is suspected, subscribers should notify CHECKSIX without undue delay.
CHECKSIX may temporarily suspend access where this is necessary to protect subscriber accounts or the integrity of the publishing platform.
15. Subscriber Communication
During an active subscription, CHECKSIX may communicate with subscribers regarding:
- newly published editions;
- subscriber services;
- account-related information;
- technical updates;
- important operational notices.
These communications form part of the subscriber relationship and are not considered unrelated marketing communications.
Subscribers may separately manage optional marketing preferences where applicable.
16. Technical Requirements
Subscribers are responsible for ensuring that their own devices and software are suitable for accessing digital publications.
CHECKSIX digital editions are currently provided primarily in PDF format.
Future digital formats may be introduced to improve accessibility and reader experience.
17. Subscriber Support
Providing reliable subscriber support is an important part of the CHECKSIX publishing philosophy.
If subscribers experience technical difficulties relating to account access, downloads or subscriptions, CHECKSIX will make every reasonable effort to provide timely assistance.
Support requests may be submitted via the official contact channels published on the website.
18. Service Improvements
CHECKSIX continually seeks to improve its publications and subscriber experience.
From time to time, subscriber services may be expanded through new features, improved access methods or additional editorial content.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, such improvements do not create contractual entitlement to future features but reflect our ongoing commitment to developing the CHECKSIX Digital Publishing Platform.
19. Respect for the Publishing Community
CHECKSIX is more than a digital publication.
It is an international community of readers, photographers, aviation professionals and enthusiasts who share a passion for military aviation.
Subscribers are expected to use our services respectfully and in a manner that supports this community and its values.
Conduct that intentionally harms the publishing platform, infringes the rights of contributors or undermines the integrity of subscriber services may result in suspension or termination of subscriber access where legally permissible.
20. Intellectual Property
All digital publications made available through a CHECKSIX subscription remain protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
A subscription grants subscribers a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use the subscribed publications for private purposes only.
Subscribers do not acquire ownership of any editorial content, photography, graphics, layouts, trademarks or other intellectual property through their subscription.
21. Permitted Use
Subscribers may:
- access subscribed publications;
- download editions where permitted;
- store publications for their own personal reference;
- read publications on their personal devices.
Subscribers may not:
- share publications with third parties;
- distribute subscriber-only content;
- upload publications to websites or file-sharing platforms;
- reproduce publications for commercial purposes;
- remove copyright notices or identifying information.
Requests for editorial re-use or licensing should be directed to the CHECKSIX Editorial Office.
22. Suspension or Termination
CHECKSIX reserves the right to suspend or terminate subscriber access where:
- subscription fees remain unpaid;
- fraudulent activity is identified;
- subscriber accounts are intentionally shared;
- intellectual property rights are infringed;
- these Subscription Terms are repeatedly or seriously violated.
Where appropriate, subscribers will be given an opportunity to resolve the matter before permanent termination is considered.
Nothing in this section limits mandatory statutory rights.
23. Limitation of Liability
CHECKSIX endeavours to provide uninterrupted subscriber services and reliable access to digital publications.
However, temporary interruptions may occur due to:
- scheduled maintenance;
- software updates;
- technical failures;
- internet disruptions;
- events beyond our reasonable control.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, CHECKSIX shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages resulting from temporary service interruptions.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion is prohibited by law.
24. Changes to these Subscription Terms
These Subscription Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect:
- legal developments;
- improvements to subscriber services;
- new publishing technologies;
- operational changes.
The latest version will always be available on the CHECKSIX website.
Where required by law, subscribers will be informed of material changes before they take effect.
25. Governing Law
These Subscription Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable in the subscriber’s country of residence remain unaffected where required by law.
26. Severability
Should any provision of these Subscription Terms become invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain fully valid.
Any invalid provision shall be replaced by a legally permissible provision reflecting the original intent as closely as possible.
